Great tour
Very interesting, you learn all about ecological produced banana’s. Great guide, excellent explanation
If you love smells and tastes of the place you are visiting, there is no better choice than to also see how it is produced.
Banana Ecoplantation is a farm in the north of Tenerife island completely sustainable. The farm is 95% self-sufficient. Banana EcoPlantation’s crops are highly biodiverse, following permaculture principles. The owner Miguel works there with 3 other employees taking care of the 5 thousand banana trees in the farm. They believe in the idea that sustainability is the future.
They provide a visit around the plantation showing that it is possible to cultivate in a sustainable way and switching from a farm to an eco-farm. Everything works following the natural cycle, using different kinds of plants, insects and earthworms to provide the tree its needs. Love, caring and a pinch of patience are the secrets to keep it going.
Banana Ecoplantation participates actively in the maintenance of Tenerife’s ambience. Moreover, the visit follows the new trend of experiential tourism linked to the enhancement of the prime culinary product.
It is so exciting seeing how much work is behind the single product that you are used to seeing at the supermarket under the denomination BIO.
