If you´re looking for eco-friendly food options, choosing vegan is always a good decision as it tends to have a lower CO2 footprint, and also reduces other environmental impacts. El Med Veg is a 100% vegan restaurant located in the quiant surfer town of El Médano in the south of Tenerife.
The name, made up of the words “El Médano” and “vegan” is just as interesting as the story behind the restaurant: Originally, the Restaurant owner Luca and his wife Alessia, both Italian, came to this Island with their kids to spend some holiday time in Tenerife. They planned to stay one or two months but soon fell in love with El Médano. Since vegan options were really hard to find and Alessia is also a great chef, they came up with the idea of opening their own restaurant. We think this story can be a real inspiration for people to follow their dreams!
El Med Veg offers a variety of dishes, like burger, wraps, salads, pasta and also some delicious dessert. Everything is made with love and you can truly taste it. The team uses local ingredients whenever possible to reduce the CO2 impact of their products. And not just the food, also the drinks are thought through: Instead of using plastic bottles, you get lemonades and beer in reusable glass bottles from responsible brands like Fritz and Ocean Beer.
