Finca El Roque is situated in the north of Tenerife. The property spans over a stunning 130,000 m², half of which is located within the Anaga Rural Park, designated as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. The finca comprises two houses: El Granero (3 bedrooms) and Laurisilva (2 bedrooms). Both houses are completely independent and have their own garden. Thanks to their location, guests can easily embark on excursions to Anaga Rural Park, beautiful beaches, quaint villages, known as ‘pueblos,’ and the nearby cities of Puerto de la Cruz, La Laguna, and Santa Cruz.
The Finca is taking various eco-conscious and sustainable actions, including:
- Reforestation of the farm with native species of the Canary Islands. Presently, they are in the process of planting the 19 different species of trees that constitute the Laurisilva, a forest endemic to the Canary Islands and Madeira. Fifteen of these species can be found on the property, all clearly marked for guests staying in the houses to identify and learn about.
- Recycling of all waste, conveniently separated into different containers. Additionally, there are containers and compost bins available for organic waste disposal, which is later used in the farm’s gardening, completing a sustainable cycle.
- Cultivation of fruit trees (oranges, lemons, limes, plums, persimmons, chestnuts, figs, avocados, loquats, apples) using organic methods without any pesticides. Guests are welcome to pick fruit at any time.
- All water used in the houses is purified and reused for watering trees and plants.
We admire Finca El Roque’s dedication to organic farming and sustainable living and highly recommend booking one of their houses now!”
