Luxalad in Los Cristianos is a hidden treasure for those who value healthy cuisine. Laurence is so nice and you can feel her whole heart is in it. With its cozy and welcoming atmosphere, Luxalad is the perfect place for a quick snack or casual meal.
Tierra Café offers a wide range of plant based dishes, serving classics such as an English Breakfast (vegan) or specialties like the Mermaid Latte. I can absolutely recommend coming here for breakfast and brunch! They also have really delicious weekly special, check them out!
The tour with Whale Wise is hands down the best whale watching experience I have had so far! They only allow up to 10 passengers which makes the activity feel more private and exclusive. You can tell that Mercedes is very passionate about her profession and she blew my mind with her knowledge about the cetaceans. But it doesn't stop there – sustainability is in Whale Wise's DNA as they provide their guests with plastic-free, healthy snacks and serve tea and coffee in reusable cups. If you want to go whale watching, this will truly be the best one you can find!
Being a generally scared person, it was a true challenge for me to embark on this adventure. But when my paragliding pilot Patrick and I ran off a hill in the South coast of Tenerife, there was no fear, there was just peace and ease. Paragliding was such a relaxing experience for me, flying over the green hills, getting the best ocean views and even going through the clouds! The instructors are all extremely experienced, as there are very strict rules to when you can take people with you as a paragliding pilot. Of course, they can make this experience a bit more thrilling for those who like the adrenaline rush, by taking turn up in the sky. It will make you feel like you're on a roller coaster! The cherry on the top was landing on the beach :)
At Barraquito, Marco prepares all dishes with love and dedication, serving both typical Canarian foods as well as international meals with a twist. My personal favorite is the Canary Stew 2.0 which is actually not a stew but a dish of crispy potatoes topped with tender fish fillet and flavorful red mojo. Also make sure to try their handmade croquettes of the day and their barraquito of course!
This is a must do when coming to Tenerife to learn about the banana as a plant and its production! The staff is very friendly and especially tour guide Anna is super passionate about bananas. The visit includes a tasting of many yummy local products, including a red banana mojo which is the best red mojo I have ever had in Tenerife!
We took an art lesson with Natalia, learning how to mix paints properly to get the right colours and trying out different techniques to do a sunset painting. The atmosphere in the studio and the soft background music get you in the right mood to let your creativity flow and just forget the world outside for a few hours.
MYND hotel is a great place that is truly committed to sustainability with their water fountain or their little garden for example. Beyond that, everyone who works here is super friendly and always happy to help you. A true bonus for me is the lobby with its homy atmosphere, nice music and amazing scent!
Casa del Drago is located right next to the famous dragon tree in Icod de los Vinos. The restaurant is really cozy, making you feel like you're sitting in a living room, only outside. The creative, playful interior design always lets you discover something new and makes it not only a nice restaurant, but also a little attraction in itself.
We visited The Soap House in Los Silos to learn about the soap making process and to see how sustainability is incorporated in the production. Juan gave us a warm welcome and didn't hesitate to showcase the range of their products. Something that is really important to me personally is that my skincare smells amazing and by using natural ingredients and essential oils only, The Soap House absolutely succeeds in achieving great scents while also creating a sustainable, effective product.
