In the charming little town of Los Silos on the northwestern coast of Tenerife you can find a true hidden gem. The Soap House is committed to producing handmade, artisan soaps using natural ingredients only, such as olive oil, coconut oil, or shea butter. Aside from soap-making, The Soap House features a small shop where visitors can purchase their handmade products, which include scented soaps that smell like lavender, rose, or citrus, as well as other products such as shampoo bars, body scrubs, and or massage candles.
During our visit, we were able to watch Juan making their classic goat milk soap, mixing, heating, and molding the locally sourced ingredients. The soaps are then left to dry and cure for several weeks before they are ready for use. Nancy’s and Juan’s intention is it to make a difference in responsible consumption through solid cosmetics and zero waste. In addition to being sustainable and eco-friendly, the soaps at the Soap House are also high-quality and luxurious. The artisans take pride in their craft, and it shows in the final product. The soaps are gentle on the skin, moisturizing, and have a rich lather. Furthermore, The Soap House is a testament to the importance of preserving traditional crafts and the cultural heritage of a community.
If you are someone who cherishes elegant scents and you are looking for sustainable, handmade, and natural body care, you will not be disappointed by the range of products. So why not take a trip to Los Silos, Tenerife, and experience the magic of The Soap House for yourself?
