Eco-dive
Tenerife is one of the most ambitious places to dive and this attracts a lot of tourists, but have you ever thought about having fun snorkelling while you collecting plastic? In the cheerful marina of Amarilla Marina, there is a small colourful place that comes up into your eyes, where it is possible!
There, activities such as diving and snorkelling present a unique surplus. If while you are swimming you see a piece of plastic, why not pick it up? The charismatic owner Cas creates her new business on this concept, combining the main activities of her business with the collection of plastics, by making it innovative, funnier and completely sustainable. The renowned fight against ocean pollution is not just distant hearsay. Kas teaches us not to solve problems just by talking about it, but by performing small and apparently innocuous gestures.

During our enthralling talk, our curiosity and her overwhelming smile accompanied us throughout it. We have been involved in listening to how she spontaneously came up with the idea for this business and how easy it was to be accepted by the local community by promoting an initiative that really helped the environment. We were really impressed by how she didn’t need to look for people to cooperate with her, but everyone around her is willing to do it, because they admire and appreciate what she does. Thanks to the mission, she is fully embedded in the local community.

Moreover, her business attracted the attention of marine biologists who explained how to perfectly remove the plastic and not damage the ecosystems that in the meantime had become integrated. Our team was enraptured by discovering that marine microorganisms are stored inside a plastic bottle and that in order not to damage the ecosystem, it must be emptied before taking it out of the water.
Creativity contest
Contributing to the fight against ocean pollution means using small gestures to solve it, but how do you raise awareness or stimulate more people for the same fair cause?
Cas has a solution that will astonish and intrigue you, providing her business as a rousing win-to-win activity for everybody. Customers will not just join the activities but also they will take part in a contest with a trip as a prize. For every piece of plastic accumulated by customers, they would earn points and more points collected, more possibility you have to win an unforgettable trip. The trip at stake is arranged for the year 2023 and it is going to be in the same place where Cas came up with her brilliant insight: Maldives.

Full Inclusiveness
To crown the sustainable appellation to the brand, it can’t miss out on a consistent contribution to the local community. Looking around the place, your attention is immediately caught by a lot of unconventional but characteristic objects for sale around all made of recycled materials. Each object is constructed from a piece of plastic collected from the ocean by customers. For instance, mostly all of the pieces of plastic found are reusable or at least lend themselves to be assembled together for other purposes. Who would know better than a local artist how to give them a new life?

Indeed, Cas gives the retrieved plastic pieces to local artists who, through their unexampled creativity, create these unique and sustainable objects. Naturalness, simplicity and utility are the key words of the realization of objects. A lot of different curious stuff is exposed: from wallets, to bags, necklaces and most disparate items. All useful to the buyer but above all to turn the engine of the local economy: buying one of them will contribute to helping the local community. It reflects the principles of the circular economy, sensitising people to environmental and social problems.

In other words, the place is so full of surprises that will leave you open-mouthed all the time. In addition, performing the activities aware your contribution to saving the planet, gives you significant and incomparable self-confidence.
